Rodney Habib is one of the most influential pet health leaders in the world. He’s a filmmaker, multiple award-winning blogger, sought-after public speaker, founder of Planet Paws - the world’s largest pet health page on Facebook - and more importantly, a pet parent.
His honest and no-nonsense take on pet health and massive social media presence has gained him worldwide recognition. His 2017 documentary on the canine cancer epidemic The Dog Cancer Series accelerated his influencer status, leading to viral videos capturing more than 530 million views, then eventually achieving the status of most popular pet health food page on Facebook with 2.6 million followers.
In February 2019, Rodney was invited to Facebook Headquarters in California to speak to staff and its global community members at the Facebook Community Summit about his journey, how he grew his following organically, and tips on how to grow community today.
Rodney recently established the Paws for Change Foundation to raise money through charitable donations to further education and research in the areas of animal nutrition and health.
In 2018, Rodney was invited to China by the country’s thought leaders - top veterinarians, oncologists, social influencers and several organizations to discuss the changing landscape and the evolution of their new emerging generation of pet parents.
In 2016, Rodney was honored to give the very first TEDx talk on pet health, which currently stands as the highest viewed TED talk in history pertaining to dogs. In 2018 he was asked to keynote a second TEDx talk in Mexico City called: “How to Build the Forever Dog”.
Rodney has made numerous TV, social media headlines, movie, and radio/podcast appearances including ABC National News, BBC London, CBC, Global National News, Financial Post, National Post, the Pet Food Documentary Dog Food MythBusters, Ty Bollinger’s upcoming Truth About Cancer series, Dr. Marty Goldstein’s upcoming box office movie on pets, and most recently, two appearances on Conversations with Maria Menounos. He was also featured alongside Dr. Jane Goodall and Sir Richard Branson in the inspiring book, “101 Reasons to Get Out of Bed (and Change the World)”.
Other achievements include: Being honored at the Canadian House of Parliament in 2016 when the government recognized him for having one of the biggest brand followings in the country. He was awarded the Communicator of the Year Award at the International Summit in 2015; Man of the Year by the Boys and Girls Club of Canada, 2014; Rolf. C. Hagen Scholarship for Emerging Leader, 2013; Summit Retailer Award and 2013 HRM School Board Golden Apple Award.
